Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Criminal Conviction on DMV printout !?

I am having difficulty finding a job as a driver because my conviction is on the DMV printout report. I don't know why my conviction is on there. Is that required by law? Is there a way to get it removed? My PO wants me to get a job but it's hard when prospective employers look at my printout. I have been turned down several times.

Records are forever. That is the consequence of your choices in life. However, IF your conviction did not result in any state prison time sentenced, and was not for sex or domestic abuse type crimes, you may be able to get it expunged. That would mean you could say 'no' to convictions on most private employment applications. BUT, you referred to a PO, typically indicating prison time was served or sentenced.
