Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I was given a ''leave'' for better word to explain this, for felony possession charges. My attorney and I were prepared to go to trial, when DA office offered this: I obey all laws, be of good conduct & do not possess any prescription medication that is not prescribed for myself for 1 year. If all these are met w/in the 1 year charges will be dropped. Anyway 5 months

have passed w/o consequence, but

I wonder how a backround screen for employment I am seeking looks?

Your record shows an arrest, and will show a conviction if you screw up this probation. Once the case is dismissed, you won't have a 'record'.
