Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
My daughter needs help
My daughter left home and did not return. I reported her to the Police Dept as a missing person. She got herself involved in a prostitution ring. She is only 16 years old. I have been unsuccessful getting help from the Police. She escaped from her pimp and was arrested and then released. She doesn't know how to get herself out of this mess. Her pimp knows where I live and I have other kids. What can I do to help her?

Contact and seek help and guidance from your local Social Services agency, school counselors, church, etc. There are programs from each that could help.
Re: My daughter needs help
Your in a tough situation and my heart goes out to you and your daughter. Your question obviously involves more than legal advice and more that what a criminal attorney can offer you. However, a starting point may be talking with your daughter in hopes of gaining her trust so she understands your desire to help her and not judge her.
I would suggest first talking with some professionals who have helped children in situations like this in the past. If you do not know how to get in touch with anyone, let me suggest two possible starting points. First, generally all court houses in California have a family law self help center. These centers are an excellent place for obtaining information regarding counseling services in the area and what the county and/or state may have to offer that may help as far as counseling or a half-way house to help some one transition back into a different lifestyle. The other organization which may be able to lead you to some help is the District Attorney's office or the Public defenders office. They deal with these types of situations all the time and therefore they have access to information regarding groups or people who can help in these situations. You can also try the local county bar association for names of attorneys who may volunteer their time to assisting people in situations like this. Another place to seek out information is W.E.A.V.E. as they offer special counseling for children and may be able to lead you in a direction if they can not help you themselves. These are just some ideas to get you started. Once you start searching you will find other resources as a result of your efforts. Good luck.
