Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
My daughter went to the park with her friend. Her friend walked ahead while my daughter locked up her car. When my daughter secured her vehicle she saw 3 people chasing her friend. My daughter ran after them. My daughters friend took some jewelry from a girl at the park when my daughter caught up to them, a man that was with the victim pushed my daughter down and took her keys. the victim called the police, when they arrived they didn't take my daughter's statement they took her to jail with the friend. My daughter, unlike her friend, has never been in any kind of trouble, legal or other wise. My daughter is a good student and a good Mom. She is 18 and they are trying to stick her with 2 felonies. The victim told the courts at the hearing that my daughter did nothing to her and that she wasn't even there when the girl took her jewelry. My daughter went to jail for 18 days. The victim said she did nothing, and the friend also said that my daughter was innocent why is my daughter still facing charges?

Ask the DA for that answer.
Ask her attorney, he would have all the facts. You mean she doesn't have an attorney?? Private or Public Defender?? Get her one or the other.
