Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Deferred Entry of Justice program
I was offered the DEJ program in 2004. I completed the requirements, and was told to apply to places as if nothing happened, with the exception of law enforcement type emplyment. they need to know. To this day, my case is listed in the california court index. How can I apply to places knowing all they have to do is look at the Ca court index, and see my case. how can I get this removed from the site?

Re: Deferred Entry of Justice program
You can't; records are forever. However, if your case was actually 'dismissed' as you imply, then you have no conviction to disclose or to bother you, except under the limited issues you mention. You might be able to file a motion to actually seal the record upon a showing of good cause, which then would prevent public or employer access. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
