Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Detective

I was asked to come in to talk with a detective about an accusation. I did so, took a lie detector test, the detective said i passed it, said not to let it happen again and told me to go. The detective said she'd call if there was anything, but its been about 3 months. Is there a way to find out what's going on with this incident or am i overly worried?

Re: Detective

You've already done things I would have advised against. But going this far, you could contact him to make sure the case is closed. You should ask nothing other than that. If he says anything other than yes its closed, call my office immediately. David Wallin at www.wallinlaw.com

Re: Detective

I can't predict what will happen. Your mistake was in talking to police without legal counsel to guide you and to ensure that you knew the risks and consequences of your actions. If this doesn't come back to bite you, with an arrest, consider yourself lucky. I know that many people think if they are innocent they have nothing to fear from talking to police. Many people come to regret it later. If you need legal counsel later, feel free to contact me if you are in SoCal.
