Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
if my dog was stolen and I know who has it can I go get it back? Should I bring police?

A dog is personal property. Therefore, it is no different than if someone stole your car. Call the police and report that your dog was stolen. Obviously, it is going to help if you have documention that the dog is yours. If there is someone else (i.e. boyfriend or girlfriend) that believes the dog is his/hers too you may have to go to civil court.
