Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Door Kicked in, damage done
Had a search warrant served at my house for my step son. No one was home since they served it during work hours. Instead of cutting a lock, they kicked in the door doing damamge. Instead of breaking a window on the front door, they kicked it in causing MAJOR damage. Do they have the right to do this?

Re: Door Kicked in, damage done
Depends upon the facts and evidence, including the search warrant. If you feel strongly about it, file your damages claim with the city, and follow it up with a lawsuit when they deny the claim. Feel free to contact me for the legal help you'll need, if the case is in SoCal.
