drug transportating

if someone is caught transporting 2-4 pounds of high grade marijuana but not across state lines, what kind of trouble could they be in

They would probably face charges of possession with intent to distribute, which could have serious penalties including jail time and/or fines. The outcome of any criminal case depends on many factors including the facts of the arrest / traffic stop, and most importantly, whether the defendant hires an experienced lawyer.

How about mandatory, long term prison time under both federal and state laws, potential confiscation of vehicles and residences, etc.
