Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Email hacker
I have suspicions that my husband's ex wife had hacked into my emails. Everyday that I checked my email, the password had been changed and I had to reset it. She had (what I assume was accidental) sent an email to one of my family members.... how would she have known their email address unless it was her hacking my email????? There has also been a profile on a web site with my name , age and city of residence in the profile, that I can only assume was an attempt at posing as me. I cannot be 100% certain that she is responsible for these things, but I can't imagine who else it would be. Is there any action I can take in prosecuting her?

Re: Email hacker
If you think you can prove it, you can file suit, use the discovery tools and subpeona the records necessary. Feel free to contact me if serious about investing the time and money needed to do it.

It will be hard to get the police interested in this as they are not tech-savvy enough. If you have the money you could always sue her, subpoena the various ISP records to show that the traffic to your email account came from her IP address, and then give the results of your investigation to the police. This assumes she is using her own computer and network connection.
