Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My employer is stating that I spent more than my budget at work by $1000. She handed me blank checks, a debit card with the pin and cash. This was routine over the past 9 months. 3 days ago I told her I no longer wanted to work with her and then she brought this up. First to all the clients and then to me. If she does press charges, what are my options? California

Once you are charged with a crime, your 'options' are to hire an attorney to defend against it like any other defendant, or run and hide from arrest.

Your current options are to wait to see if charges are filed, or try to negotiate something to avoid them being filed.

If you are serious about hiring counsel to help you in this, feel free to contact me.

all good advice. If you want to be a bit pro-active, you may also want to think through and capture your thoughts /memories in writing on what happened with the PIN, debit card etc. The when/where/why/how, what did the employer say, any details you remember. It could become helpful, and in the meantime it could also help focus your mind and relieve anxiety. Good luck!
