Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
i went to a former employers location to get use their machine on a weekend, a company employee let me do so. another employee showed up and asked me to leave and also said you were mostly likely stealing. i left and did not take the product i took there to cut. come to find a police report was taken 2 days later and accused me of at least burglary. if i have proof, invoice, credit card draft and letter from a company that gave me product, can this be stopped at the detective level before a criminal filing?

You have the right idea. You committed no crime. You should not contact the detective directly, however. Have an attorney or a trusted family member do it. Provide the police with the invoice and a written statement from the employee who allowed you entrance. You want to stop this at the investigation stage so you have no arrest record. When I intervene for clients in your position at the pre-filing stage, I charge about $500-750. From what you tell me, it should do the trick.
Can it be stopped? Maybe; , if your attorney deals effectively with the police before charges are filed and convinces them no crime was intended or committed. If serious about getting legal help doing so, feel free to contact me.
