Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Espungement

I picked up a girl 11 years ago. She turned out to be a cop. I have never been in trouble with the law before or since. I would like to know how to get it exspunged and to know whether or not it will ever appear on a sex/criminal offender backgroung check ?

Thanks Tom

Re: Espungement

Impossible to advise you without knowing specifically what you were convicted of, under which specific section of the Penal Code.

Some sex related offenses can be reduced to misdemeanors and/or expunged from your record. Some of them cannot.

Criminal convictions never really disappear from your criminal record. If you ever commit another offense or even if you are arrested it will be there in data bases used by law enforcement and prosecution. However, an expungement will remove the conviction from data bases commonly used and accessible by civil entities, like employers. Having a conviction expunged will enable you to say "no" to a question on a job application as to whether you were ever convicted of a crime.

Hope this helps,

Re: Espungement

You may be able to get it expunged, depending upon what you were convicted of, and what your sentence was. If expunged, then you get to say 'no' to conviction on most employment applications. Feel free to contact me if serious about getting this done.
