Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Expongment/Sealing

In California in 1992 I pled no contest and took a plea of 3 months and was told deferred adjudication to a sex with a minor (she was 17 I was 18). I served my time and have not been in any legal trouble since. I would like to get this off my record so I can travel internationally. Is that possible?

Re: Expongment/Sealing

It depends upon the penal code section to which you pled no contest...misdemeanor or felony...some charges are specifically ineligible for expungement.

Possibly, depending upon the charges you pled to, and how the case was documented by the court. Feel free to contact me for help in doing so.

Re: Expongment/Sealing

What you are requesting is an expongement of your prior criminal record.

I am uncertain if your charges will fall under this section of the law. Generally, because of Megan's Law, expongements of past sexual crimes is very difficult.

Please contact me privately to discuss the charges and the plea that you arranged. From that point we can see where we can go.

Our firm specializes in trusts and estates, I believe we can assist you for a minimal charge.

Please feel free to contact me at the number and/or email provided by LawGuru, we offer free consultations, so it can't hurt to have us review whatever you have. I can also be reached through our firm's website at ImInnocent.com.
