Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Expunged records revealed??

I accepted a stolen credit card while working at a retail store when I was 18. My record has been since expunged but I would like to apply for my real estate license and that requires that I disclose my record. I have two questions:

1) Would my prior record hamper my efforts to get the license? (I have had no other problems)

2) If I can get my license, would clients be able to see this information should the look up my real estate license on the web or elsewhere?

Thank you in advance...

Re: Expunged records revealed??

You MUST disclose the expunged conviction, as DRE will find it in background check anyway. Failure to disclose will result in denial of license permanently. If it has been some years since conviction, with no further problems, it should not bar licensing. NO, people will not be able to see the info from DRE.
