Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Exspongement of a misdemeanor after diversion program

what are the chances of exsponging my otherwise clean record, for illegal use of a handicap placard, a misdemeanor. I went through a diversion program, and completed community service.

If exsponged, will my record look clean if i apply for a professional license with the state?

Re: Exspongement of a misdemeanor after diversion program

A lot of attorneys do expungements but fail to take the additional step to notify governmental agencies of the successful expungement. For example, lets say you apply for a Real Estate or Nursing Licese, the Department of Justice runs your record.Courts often times do not notify the DEJ. As such, when you do your live scan, the expungement does not show up. Call me, Arthur Khachatourians, ESQ - 323-655-7180, to discuss further on what you need to do.

As a rule, misdemeanor offenses can be expunged in the State of California. Please contact Oliver of my office at (800) 313-9619 so that he can further explain the possible effect on any professional licenses.

Expungement will clear your record for the purpose of employment application to private companies and other, BUT NOT to government agencies and for licensing, security checks, etc -- you are required to disclose the conviction to them, and they WILL see it on your record if you try to 'forget' it. I can help you get it expunged, contact me.
