Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Exsponging Felony Records For Employment

I was convicted in 1998 as a Sex Offender and I have successfully completed probation. I was sentenced to one year in county jail. I have completed and I still am in counceling to overcome this whole ordeal. I am married and have one son. I want to exsponge my record. Is there anything I can do? I do not have a lot of resources. How much does it cost? I am having a real hard time to gain employment because of my offence. I would love to get a great paying job. Thank you in advancement.

Re: Exsponging Felony Records For Employment

Expungement requires the felony be first reduced to misdemeanor by court order on a seperate motion, at the court's discretion based on all the facts presented. If the felony was for PC Section 286, 288, 288a(c), 288.5, 289(j), or 261.5(d), then no expungement is allowed. If you still think you are qualified, contact me to discuss costs of doing this.
