You've been charged with a crime, yes, with potential jail, fines, etc. I suggest you take this risk seriously, and hire counsel to deal with the actual facts, issues, defenses, etc. Feel free to contact me if serious about doing so. It may be possible to defend against the charges and evidence, and/or work out a plea bargain you can live with.

If it's your first offense, and you hire a lawyer, you probably will not do jail time. However, charges may likely be filed against you so I recommend you retain an attorney before that time to protect your rights.

Good Luck.

Maybe. Will you get a lawyer? If the answer to my question is yes, you will improve the odds that the answer to yours will be no.

Jail time is not inevitable, especially if you hire a good lawyer. Hiring one as soon as possible might lead to charges not being filed.

Feel free to call my office for a non-binding consultation if you are looking to retain a lawyer in Southern California.
