Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

False Information

I was prosecuted for a crime about 4 years ago for a charge of attempted grand theft auto. I was given a deal for a plea of no contest. I accepted. 4 years later, applying for a job, I was turned down for having a criminal past with a conviction of gta with a fire arm. This information is not true and has been on my record for 4 years without my knowledge and has cost me countless job opportunities.

Re: False Information

You can get this corrected. You can go to the Department of Justice website to find out how to contest a conviction listed on your record. Here is the site and you will find instructions there on how to do that http://www.ag.ca.gov/fingerprints/

You can also retain an attorney to do that for you.

Good luck,
