Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
felony conviction
If I have one felony conviction, how much time passes after the date of conviction before a second felony is not automatic prison and when does that time period begin, is it upon release or does it begin the day after probation is over?

Nice try. Your record is forever, and that 'strike' counts forever.
Re: felony conviction
Nice try. Your record is forever, and that conviction/strike counts forever for subsequent charges. You may be able to expunge the conviction, if there was no prison time sentenced or served, and if it wasn't for various DV or sex crimes, and if you successfully completed all probation terms. Expungement would allow you to say 'no' to conviction on most employment applications, even though it doesn't remove it as a prior/strike. Feel free to contact me if you're serious about doing so.
