Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Felony Evading Arrest

I was arrested for 2800.2(A) VC-Felony evading arrest, 135 PC-Destroying evidence, 23152(A) VC-Misdemeanor DUI, 11550(A) HS-Under the influence of controlled substance, 23222(B) VC-Possesion of less than an ounce of marijuana, 11377(A) HS-Possesion of controlled substance, 11378 HS-Possesion of controlled substance for sale, and 11364(A) HS-Possesion of drug paraphernalia. I haven't really been in trouble before, except for petty theft. I was bailed out and we have a private attorney, so what do you think is going to happen to me?

Re: Felony Evading Arrest

Your current attorney is most familiar with facts and circumstances of your case and should know best. Drug diversion/treatment might be possible if evading arrest or possession for sale is dismissed. All in all, it should be a probationary sentence which, however, could include time in county jail. In my view, it all depends on how strong are the charges of evading arrest and possession for sale.
