I had my felony expnuged to a misdemeanor, can I not apply for a gun permit

Expungement has no effect on gun prohibition incurred by your felony conviction. You could seek a restoration of gun rights through a motion to the convicting court, if you have compelling reasons that would persuade a judge to do so. If serious about pursing this, feel free to contact me.
