can someone with a felony ever get the
right to own a gun again??

Only if you obtain a court order restoring your rights. IT takes a proper motion and hearing, and 'convincing' grounds. "Just because I wanna" is not good grounds. You'll have to show thorough and long term rehabilitation, leading a good life, etc. Feel free to contact me if serious about doing so, with such grounds.
