Felony Record and Employment Background Check
I had a felony at 19, could my record be sealed so it wouldn't show up on my employment background check? If yes, what do I need to do in order to have it sealed? This happened over 20 years ago when I was young and stupid.

Re: Felony Record and Employment Background Check
Depends upon the code section convicted of. You have to have the felony reduced to misdemeanor, then have to get the misdemeanor expunged, SO THAT you can tell private employers 'no' to conviction on job applications. It still is on the record and must be disclosed for police and governmental agencies, licensing applications, etc. Contact me if interested in getting it done right.
Re: Felony Record and Employment Background Check
Probably not. You weren't a juvenile at the time, and records of crimes comitted by adults are only sealed in truly extraordinary circumstances. The defendants' desire not to have the conviction on his record is not a basis for an order sealing his file.
