Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
how can i find out if there is a bench warrant on me? calling the sherrifs office and they said they will not say over the phone and have to come in to find out but its 2500 miles away

contact the court clerk's office and ask, or have an attorney go in.

It sounds to me like the Sheriff wants you there to arrest you if there is a warrant. You are better off having an attorney check the criminal case. Some counties have this information online. If you know the county a criminal charge is filed in, and they have this online, you can check this online. Otherwise, it will require an attorney to go in person.
