Firearms waiver

Any advice on having a firearms ban lifted before the 10 yrs is up? I'm in yr 7 of the ban and wanting to attend a police academy, have already passed the test for entry. was a misdemeanor D.V. conv. in 2000.

You're only option is to go back to the court that issued the order, file an appropriate motion backed up by supporting documents explaining why the court should give you special treatment. You can ask for expungment of the conviction at the same time. Feel free to contact me for legal help, it's one of my specialty areas.
