Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
fraud/theft
I know a 19 year old male with no criminal history that has filled out a credit application with a credit union and now is being charged with 2 counts of fraud and 2 counts of theft. He did use his correct name and social security but lied regarding his employment and salary. any advice?

He needs to get a lawyer immediately, tell her as much as he can about the case and then ask her for advice. The very limited information you have provided is simply not enough to let us offer any meaningful guidance.

Yes; do not talk to police, and he needs to get an attorney to defend him, unless he likes the thought of going to jail. This is an unusual charge to be made, so the prosecutors are taking it seriously. Feel free to contact me if interested in doing so.
