It means he got out without having to pay bail, and that the charges were sent to the DA for filing. He now gets to defend the felony charges in court after he gets a letter from the court or DA advising him of a hearing date. He is facing felony count[s] with prison time if convicted. Most cases are 'plea bargained' to avoid the risk of loss at trial and mandatory sentencing to the full term provided in the law upon conviction.
