Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Good Samaritan
I stopped at a California hwy accident scene as a first responder providing medical care to accident victims, two of which died at the scene and one still brain dead. After help arrived, I assisted at the scene until no longer needed and then proceeded to take photos of emergency workers to write an article about a local sheriff who happened to be at the scene. A CHP officer did not want me taking photos and actually arrested me at the scene, eventually writing me up for obstructing, delaying or disobeying a peace officer, after he finally learned I was the first on scene providing help.
I am facing a court date and would like info on how to defend myself in this circumstance.

The only valid advice anyone is ever going to give you in these circumstances is 'hire a good attorney'; that is what we went to law school and are trained for. Keep in mind, you risk jail time and a criminal record if you lose.
