Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
If a guest stole an item out of your house (a set of golf clubs) and you can describe them, and that person lived in the same town you lived. What could the police do if anything to get those clubs back? Is there any legal recourse that can be done to retrieve your property? The guest slept over your home and took the set of clubs while you slept during the night?

File a theft report with police, with whatever evidence and proof you have.
You could also sue in small claims court, with whatever evidence and proof you have.
