Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Two and half years ago and I stole money from a client where I worked and got caught. I made full restitution within 30 days and the courts charged me with one felony and 90 days of community service. I had never committed a crime before and I knew I shouldn't have done it. I found a new job and have been working at it since. Recently my former employer happened to find out where I was working and I am concerned that she could contact my current employer and tell her what I did and send her copies of court documents etc. Can my former employer legally do that? I am doing well at this job and have not committed any other crimes and do not wish to have any trouble.

Anyone can tell the truth without risk of lawsuit if they are asked about you. However, a former employer should not seek out people to tell, because that would be an attempt to damage you, without reason to do so. IF it happens, contact me.
