Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Hepatitus C
Is it illegal to not disclose you have a sexually transmitted disease prior to having sex with someone? A man, after having unprotected sexual intercourse with him, told me he had hepatitus C. (yes, I know I was stupid)

Re: Hepatitus C
There are laws requiring disclosure, but all that provides you is potential legal recourse of dubious value for the damages and harm you may have caused yourself by your conduct. You might consider such suit IF he has financial assets and income sufficient to justify you spending the money such suit would cost. However, you and your attorney should be able to use the threat of suit to get him to pay for testing, treatment, and other costs that arise. Contact me if interested in doing this right.
