Home invasion
If I were to maim or kill a man after he broke in to my house, would I be subject to legal reprocussions?

Re: Home invasion
Of course; there are consequences to all your actions, whether you intended them or not. Now, whether you are charged with a crime depends on all the facts determined or assumed by the police and DA about the 'justification' of you using deadly force in 'self defense'. If it happens, exercise your right to 'shut up', call your attorney. Feel free to contact me if in SoCal.
Re: Home invasion
You would be allowed to use force against the intruder that was reasonably necessary under the circumstances, but no more. The mere presence of an intruder in your home would not justify deadly force. However, if he were attacking you or a family member, such force would be justified.
