Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
my husband is accused of agraveted assault to commit rape,he accepted the plea that the public defender gave him,he is to serve 2 years,and then he is to be registered as a sex offender,why? can you please explain to me why?

If your question is why did he plead guilty, the most likely answer is because he chose to be represented by the public defender instead of a private attorney. If your question is why two years plus lifetime registration, that's the deal that he accepted which seems to be a reasonable sentence for aggravated assault involving rape. Whether this plea was wise of him depends on the strength of the evidence against him, and how prepared his lawyer was to take the case to trial.
He's a sex offender. That's why.
Because that was his plea bargain, admitting he is a sexual predator.
