Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Husband was arrested during a traffic stop, was told he had an outstanding warrant from 2002 , Car was searched & brass knuckles were found in glove box. I cannot afford legal representation, what is the best case / worst case scenario. What are the usual proceedings for this type of case. Help, don't know what to do.

He can afford to ask for the court to appoint a public defender.

He needs to apply to the Public Defender, and ask those questions when the PD has all the facts and charges to review. He faces a new misdemeanor that could put him in jail for up to a year, plus the original charges he skipped on. If he decides to hire private counsel, feel free to contact me.
