Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My husbands son from previous marriage is 17 years old. He wants to live with us full time and has been doing so already for over 6 months. We are moving out of the county from san diego county to los angeles county. His mother, who he has limited contact with, has threatened to call child services if we take him to continue living with us. Their current legal divorce has 50/50 custody. We are allowing his 19 year old girl friend to move with us. Helping them both go to college. My step son just tested out of high school.

What should we prepare for if his mother contact social services as threatened? What could they charge us or his girlfriend with if anything? What can e do to protect him and us?Thank you

Nothing you can do to stop the ex, but simply be prepared to discuss the situation rationally IF CPS calls you. The father has equal custody rights, including the right to move.
