Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

illegal search ?

I had cops come to my door looking for a person who hasnt lived here in over a year. When they asked if he lived here I said no not for over a year but they bypassed me and went into my house anyways. They looked at my room mates room then continued to look in my room as well. They found some antique guns in my closet and a half gram of coke.I was arrested and charged with controlled substance with intent to sell. And they took they guns which were legal guns.when I asked why they were in my room they said its a known fact that people with warrants hide in closets. That was there reason for going into my room. I feel I was screwed on this deal and to top it off my girlfriend who I loved more than myself committed suicide while I was in.All for somebody that didnt live here for over a year.

Re: illegal search ?

Defend your case by hiring a lawyer. There is lots to defend - possibly an illegal search as well as BS possession with intent charge based on miniscule amount of coke. Just moaning about the situation will not do you any good, unfortunately.

Now that you've 'vented', the answer to your unasked question is: hire an attorney to defend the case and file any appropriate suppression motions. Feel free to contact me if serious about doing so, if the case is in SoCal courts.
