Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I need some information on a parole violation. My friend who is on parole was pulled over in my vehicle and was charged with transportation of a controlled substance. Now they are presenting him with a 4 year sentence and I want to know if I took the charge and said it was mine what could happen to me or if that is even possible. Thank you for your time.

That's stupid. You don't ever want a criminal conviction on your record. The economy is really bad right now and it is hard enough finding a job without a criminal record. It is also stupid to lie to the court.

If you volunteer it was yours, you both will face prosecution. 4 years for him, a couple years and a felony conviction on your record for you. Not a hard question.
