Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Insurance card

I had a citation for ''driving without insurance'' in a federal reserve in CA and paid the fine($100) later before the court date.

Before my payment, I sent an insurance card as a proof to the district court with intent to dismiss the case.

The insurance card seems like it covers the date I was cited but according to the insurer company records,it does not!

Is there anyway to find out if I am being prosecuted for submitting false insurance card even I paid for the ticket?,

If so, what is the potential penalty for that charge?

( I have no criminal records, and I am a foreigner on non-immigrant student visa status.)

Re: Insurance card

If the court thinks you falsified a document or lied to them, you face serious problems. Get an attorney before this escalates further.
