i was late for court but still showed up for court, now i have a bench warrant. what would happen to me with a bench warrant and how do i get rid of it?

You have an 'arrest' warrant, you can guess what that means. To fix this, you go back to court, and request the warrant be recalled, probably incurring a fine, and you then deal with the charges like you were supposed to. I don't believe you. You must have showed up to court after it was closed, or showed up several days late.

When a defendant is late, and a warrant has been issued, the court usually recalls the warrant and either holds the hearing, or reschedules it.
