Your lawyer won't be allowed into a grand jury session, and grand juries aren't subject to "voir dire." If you are charged with a crime (for example after being indicted by a grand jury) for best results you should bring your lawyer with you on the first court date.

Neither you nor your lawyer are allowed in the Grand Jury proceedings, other than if you are called to testify. Such proceedings indicate serious charges being filed against you. Get an attorney immediately and follow his advice. If this is in SoCal, and if you're serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.

You are not allowed to have a lawyer present in a grand jury session. However, I am not sure you understand the proceeding since you stated grand jury "voir dire." Grand juries are not subject to voir dire. If you are being called to testify in front of a grand jury, you will need an attorney even if you do not think you are the subject of an investigation. You can become a subject very quickly. You need an attorney familiar with Grand Jury proceeding. They are a different animal completely. They can be used in many ways by the government to get what they want. Get an attorney, immediately.

Good luck
