Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
how to legally represent my mother, via a letter
Hi, my grandmother died in Manor Care in Palm Desert, CA. The place refuses to give us her possessions and any paperwork - copy of her file. My mother wants me to write them a letter as her lawyer. So, how should I proceed to represent my mother in a letter. What is legal concerning using such words as, I am acting as Mrs. Conte's attorney, etc. Thank you.

Unless you are a licensed attorney, do NOT represent yourself as one, it is illegal. If you don't know how to 'play' attorney, you wouldn't do too good a job at pretending anyway. You can say you are family and have authority from the other family members to speak for them.
