Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I live in Los Angeles and went to see an ASU football game over the weekend. I'm 18 years old and my cousin who hadn't drunken anything was pulled over for making too wide of a right turn. I had 4 beers before the game and the game started at 7. We were pulled over and breathalyzed and I blew .018, after being asked to be breathalyzed again I blew all zeros. The officer had written the citation already with .018 on it. I have a court date in Arizona this November. What should I do?

You have 2 issues; 1 is a DMV issue and 1 is a court issue. For the court issue, you can retain an attorney in the county where you received the DUI. Once reraining counsel, you may NEVER have to appear in court in Arizona. Look for credentials like mine , in term of years of experience, type of experience and any special certifications they may have. In terms of DMV, you could have the Arizona attorney handle that as well. In California, if you don't notice an appeal to try to save your license, within 10 DAYS, you lose the right. So TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. I wish you well. David Wallin

This question should be handled by an Arizona lawyer because that is the law that will apply. If there law is the same as California law then a person under 21 cannodrive with any measurable amount of alcohol in their system.

You should call around in the Arizona city that you were cited in and find a lawyer that can help you. Not only will you get the benefit of having a lawyer on your side, you may not have to travel back and forth for every court date.

Show up in court or have an arrest warrant issued. Hire an attorney that knows what he is doing, since you had to ask and demonstrate you didn't.
