Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
how long does a rejected case by city attorney show up on record and how long after that does the case remain open? i had a case 13 years ago, rejected by city attorney, but still come up on record,moerover, it shows as an open case, why is that? it was a spausal qaurrel but had been reported as battery! i have divorced my drunkard husband and he is out of my life. this arrest should have never happeened to begin with. thnx

Records are forever. Yours shows an arrest, no conviction. The minor 'error' of showing it to be open can be corrected by going to court and requesting that.
