YOU can't do anything except pay for an attorney for him if needed. Polygraph [lie detector] test is generally not admissible in court, and can only be done with the consent of the person to be tested, which is sometimes requested by police or attorneys as part of an investigation, not for trial use. If you're serious about helping him by hiring an attorney, and if the case is in SoCal area, then feel free to contact me.

What you are referring to is a polygraph test. It is often referred to as a lie detector test. Mr. Nelson is correct the person subject to testing must give their consent and the results from such tests can not be used as evidence during a trial. The tests are not 100%. Some people can not be tested accurately and some people, depending on their background and maybe even some training they have received, can beat the tests.

There are times when part of an investigation or part of the negotiations with the District Attorney will lead to a polygraph test but that is rare and the decision should be between the person arrested and their attorney. Therefore I suggest you start looking for attorneys. You need a professional to deal with the situation and trying anything else is a waste of time.

Good Luck,
