Lewd conduct, PC 314, is a Misdemeanor and has a maximum sentence of 1 year in jail. However, if convicted, there is also a mandatory requirement of lifetime Registration under PC 290 (sex offender). This is an EXTREMELY serious case. I would advise you to contact an attorney is your area.

Depending upon the actual charges, a year or more in jail and lifetime registration as a sex offender. Not something to take lightly. Hire an attorney to defend this, unless you like jail food and accommodations. If serious about doing so, and if this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me. Your goal should be to obtain a negotiated plea bargain unless you really think you can go to trial and win.
