Minor in Possession & 602PC

HI.. My 13 year old son just received a 602PC in addtion to a minor in possession of alcohol. He went to the homecoming game and drank alcohol and smoked pot that was given to him by one of his so called friends. Now the police are saying its my fault. I do not dring or smoke anything. Can the parent get in trouble over this?

It is unlikely that the parents will be in any trouble as a result of a childs misconduct, unless the parent is somehow involved. There could be some problems with juvenile court. There may be allegations of inadequate supervision of your son. At the first hint of an allegation of inadequate supervision you should contact an attorney.

By definition, When police are saying 'its your fault', you already are in trouble. You could be charged with various failures to supervise, etc. Sounds like you need counsel.
