Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Ex Mis

How do I go about expunging or sealing a misdemeanor? I've sucessfully completed probation, served jail time and paid restitution.

Re: Ex Mis

Unless it was a conviction for domestic violence based conduct or some other similar charges, it may be possible to expunge so that you can say 'no' on most job applications. It requires an application and motion to the court. Feel free to contact me if serious about getting it done right; it's not that expensive to do.

You can do it yourself by contacting the criminal/expungement clerk at the court where you were convicted. There is a form and fee involved. If you feel intimidated by the process, you can hire an attorney. The attorney who represented you on the case might do it at little or no extra cost.
