Re: misdameanor charge
Appear in court and submit to the court for resolution of the charges by plea bargain or trial, just like any other criminal case. Take an attorney unless you are willing to risk arrest and booking in court. Feel free to contact me if serious about getting legal help.
Re: misdameanor charge
Best option is to retain a private lawyer to attempt to resolve the situation without the need for your personal appearance and obviously no jail time. Second best option, show up early in the morning on any given day and talk to the Public Defender's office. At any rate, some jail is always a possibility in a bench warrant situation. The longer you wait the worse the situation will become.

Arriving at the answer to this question has a lot to do with information you don't provide. Why was the bench warrant issued? At what stage of the proceedings? How much is the bail for the warrant? What is your record like? Have you ever failed to appear to anything else before. Which court is it in? Who is the judge? All of these questions (and more) need to be considered before a good answer can be predicted. As the others have said, it's best to have an attorney, experienced in criminal law, represent you. If you'd like to discuss this with me further, please don't hesitate to contact me. Steve Mandell
