You should contact counsel ASAP to at least be counseled on what you could be facing and the options you may have.

What can you do... simply put, gather information. You should call the District Attorney's Office right away and ask if there is a case filed in your name. Get the charges, the date that it was filed, and the case number. This information will at least tell you what the incident was regarding. The next step is tricky. If you were to turn yourself in to the police or walk into the Court, you will most likely be arrested and forced to bail out at the usual $50,000. However, if you hire a private attorney to represent you, and it is a misdemeanor, she MIGHT be able to bypass the arrest and bail problem, because you need not appear in Court with your attorney (in most courts, depending on the Judge.) From there, fight the case. Call or write if you have any other questions.

You either deal with it yourself, at the risk of being arrested when you go to court, or you hire counsel to do so. Until we know what the charges are, and why, no one can give you any opinion on the case. Contact me if interested in getting this handled.
